Who's the Cylon?

Playing Battlestar Galactica

After one of the snowiest winters in recent memory, Vermont was ready for a meltdown. The Green Mountain Gamers attempted to provide one with our latest game day. On a beautiful Saturday, folks from as far away as Quebec braved mud season to converge on Middlebury’s Ilsley Library. Our Spring Meltdown took place on March 19th from 10 AM to 10 PM with gamers of all ages playing RPG’s and board games.

This gameday had a larger share of younger players than in days past, and the preteens enjoyed playing Sorry, Survive and Rat-A-Tat-Cat. Teenagers were seen in plenty, both playing in John Prushko’s old school dungeon crawls but also playing Battle Cry, We Didn’t Play Test This At All, and mixing in freely with the older gamers. All told we had about 20 gamers who wouldn’t be able to buy a beer.

And here's where the dragon eats you!

Doing a dungeon crawl Old School!

Other games were played in plenty: Battlestar Galactica, Endeavor, Rattus, Ticket to Ride, Pandemic, Fluxx, A Game of Thrones, Bananagrams, Revolution!, Mansions of Madness, Settlers of America: Trails to Rails, Australian Rails, San Juan and Puerto Rico. There were over 40 people playing for several hours in the afternoon, and then about 20 people settled in to play into the night. The evening closed with a game of Fury of Dracula that ran till about 11 PM, making this a 13 hour affair!

A great deal of fun was had by all. Thanks should go out to the helpful staff of the fine Ilsley Library which provided an excellent venue for our event.
