As the snow melts, so do the gamers rouse from their winter hibernation. Break out the meeples and percentile dice. It’s time for the springtime Green Mountain Game Day.

When and Where

Date and Time: April 21st, 2012, 10:00am to 10:00pm.
Location: Grange hall, 173 York St, Lyndonville, VT.
Suggested Donation: $5

Games to Play

Open play is the name of the game at Green Mountain Game Days. A huge pile of games materialize as people arrive. Then everyone gets to either push their favorite or try something that sounds interesting as it hits the table.

Some games, however, do require some planning, because they’re exceptionally long or require preparation beforehand, like role-playing adventures. If you’ve got something that needs a little more planning than simple pickup play allows, let us know you’re going to run it, so we can list it here for all to know and see. You can also participate in the official forum conversation.

Door Prize

Triple Play will donate a mystery door prize to be won by a lucky Spring Meltdown attendee. To enter the drawing, make a donation at the door to Green Mountain Gamers. When you do, also fill out the convenient drawing entry form and drop it in the can. Later in the day, usually around 5:00 or 6:00, we’ll draw a name from the can. That person wins the mystery prize.

Vendors

Spring Meltdown offers goers two options to pick up that much-needed piece of gaming paraphernalia. Those with special desires should call ahead to see what these fine retailers can do for them.

  • Dark Tower Gaming of Lyndonville, Vermont, specializes in Magic cards, selling them as well as running two tournaments.
  • Triple Play of West Lebanon, New Hampshire, covers your board and role-playing games.

Directions

The grange hall is a white building on the left when coming from Route 5.

Whichever way you’re coming from, you’re probably going to wind up taking Interstate 91 or Route 5 right to Lyndonville. From the nearest exit, it’s a short skip down Route 5 to the intersection with York Street.

Parking

There is parking for the grange directly across the street from the building.

Food and Drink

As usual, Green Mountain Gamers will have snacks available to buy: sodas, snack cakes, and chips.

Most of the nearby options for food and drink are easily found cruising along Route 5. Yelp and Urbanspoon can provide more information about dining opportunities in the Lyndonville area.
