    Amy brought A la carte into the store a little while ago. I did not get to play, but it looked like a fun game. It has a dexterity piece to it…you need to add the right amount of spices.

    Over all I was dissapointed with the nominees this year. I thought some of the games that did not quite make it…(the recommendation list) were better than the five that did. Games like Tobago, Hansa Teutonica, and Endeavor (Magister Navis on this list) http://deathofmonopoly.blogspot.com/2010/05/spiel-des-jahres-2010-nominees-and.html

    I will be routing for A la Carte or Roll thru the Ages. It should have been Endeavor!

    I’ll bring A la Carte next week. I haven’t played a proper 3- or 4 player game, only messed around a bit with Shelby. We managed to ruin > half of the dishes we tried to make. Whoops :) And it’s not all giggles- there are plenty of opportunities to steal or ruin other chefs dishes.

    I like Roll Through the Ages, even though I’ve play > 12 times and I think I’ve only won once.

    I just heard about Dixit from another gamer on my knitting board. I would like to check that it- it sounds like you have to be pretty creative :)

    I agree that Endeavor should have been on the list.

    So Dixit won the 2010 Spiel des Jahres. I had a flip through Quarterstaff’s demo copy this week.

    It’s really weak. Like, almost Once Upon a Time weak. Crazy Germans.
