Summer Game ‘n Grill 2011 is June 18th. Until then, consider this pre-game lounge to chat about what you want to play, places to eat and all that fun stuff.
Are you sure it’s june 19th??
It’s a sunday…
Some numbers just get stuck in the head. I think I caught all the incorrect dates. It is, naturally, the 18th.
I’ll vouch for Jasper Murdoch’s Alehouse at the Norwich Inn. Tasty Beer. Mmmm.
Any ideas on a good game for a tournament? Dominion again? Transamerica?
How about a Power Grid tourney?

Looks very interesting…
4 words…..A Game of Thrones!
How long does A Game Of Thrones take to play? Or PowerGrid? (I love that game). Ideally, we need to have a game that takes one hour or less to complete. That way, with a couple of rounds we’re under 3 hours.
GOT is at least 3hrs + depending on the set up & number of players… SUPER game though!
Power Grid is more around 90 mins… also a SUPER game!
Memoir ’44 would make a decent tournament game – you just need a reasonably balanced, fairly basic scenario to build it around. A single round could be played in 45 minutes or so. You could fit in three or four rounds – single elimination or swiss-style depending on the number of players and the whole thing could be done in a total of 3 hours, maybe 4 for the top players.
Race for the Galaxy’s time would make it a good contender for a tournament, but not everyone knows that game.
I say an Agricola Tournament would be a great idea!
But Agricola takes time as well… at least in the 2hrs +
I was also thinking Race for the Galaxy or we could go back to Dominion again.
We’re also tossing around the idea of GMG T-shirts. Anyone have any interest in them? Would you buy one? How much would you pay for one?
I have a copy of Race for the Galaxy and it’s something of a favorite among my family of three gamers.
