Consider this your official discussion thread for Winter Weirdness 2012.

For the winter season, the Green Mountain Gamers return to the undercroft of the Church of the Good Shepherd for a day of gaming and camaraderie.

Provide that the new GOT is out by then who will joint Rod & I for another round of GOT (hopefully not marathon style ;) ) The idea would be to start the day with it at 10am.

As usual and mandatory, it’s BSG afterwards of course

    - Carlo Baratheon the 1st and NOT a cylon… yet!

Can I put in a request now for no major snowstorm and drivable roads into Barre? That was a bit hairy last year.

Just a thought, but would it be possible to have name tags at this event? This would benefit newcomers and also people like me who are bad at remembering names.

Ooh! I like this idea, I hate and never remember to introduce myself!.

If you get enough people (I think 10 in a min) you could get nice plastic ones made up with a GMG logo on them. That way you could use them at any of the events as opposed to just sticker nametags. Just a thought.

Name tags are an interesting idea. I’ll pass it on to the group.

Rachel, while “the group” contemplates your request, I volunteer to bring a bunch a cheap sticky labels and a magic marker. You just point out anyone you don’t know and I will gladly attach a name for you. Perhaps we can even get Nicole to pre-fill a bunch of labels with easy-to-remember names for folks we don’t know.

I think King of Tokyo would make a wonderful fast-and-fun tournament game for Winter Weirdness. If there were few enough people (< 7?) then they could all go at it at one table head-to-head. With more that we could make three or four tables and then have the winner at each play head-to-head against the other winners. Not sure how many copies of the game are floating around our group however I would volunteer to purchase a copy if needed.

I’ll be up for that if i can squeeze that in between BSG & GOT…

I am currently in the process of getting Essen 2011 promo for King of Tokyo… a 7th player!! It will be there and available for WW. King of Tokyo is very fast and can be taught under 2 mins so everybody can play! It’s very fun too!

Are you sure about that, Bill? I mean, you know what will happen if I play King of Tokyo ;)

Coming up for Winter Weirdness, we will have a door prize donated by the Book Garden (gift certificate) and we will do what we did last time. If you make a donation at the door, enter your name into the door prize drawing to win the prize. Remember, half of all donations at the door will be donated to the Good Shepherd Church to give them thanks for letting us use the hall.

Also, we are trying something new. The Book Garden has agreed to run a small Magic tournament. I don’t know the details of that yet but there will be one!
