Green Mountain Gamers 5 months, 1 week agoI think we’ll be bugging out a little early (7-8pm) to have some time to ourselves (a rare night without a child) and GOT is still high on my list – if we can arrange that to start in the area of mid-to-late […]

Green Mountain Gamers 5 months, 1 week agoI am. I find the different descriptions of length interesting – Rod says he gets in sessions in 3-hours, Chuck reports 5-6. I’d certainly expect a beginner game to be slower than usual, though.
If I may be so […]

Green Mountain Gamers 5 months, 1 week agoBob – I think early GOT will probably favor DWD, but I think I’m in Brittania early so I may try to set up another GOT later in the day – and don’t mind the standard variant.
For Brittania – my arrival will […]

Green Mountain Gamers 5 months, 2 weeks agoI think Bill was pushing for morning because organization can be difficult later in the day. We shall see – I’m OK with whatever the others think.
Any possible interest in a session of War of the Ring, btw? […]

Green Mountain Gamers 5 months, 2 weeks agoI could get into Brittania. I am always interested in GOT also, which sounds like it’s also running early – we may have to organize another session later in the day if that happens.

Green Mountain Gamers 7 months agoGame length can be a funny thing. I had a 6-hour session of Fury of Dracula at Lobster Trap. Normally it’s 2-3 hours and the longest one I had before that was about 4.5.

Green Mountain Gamers 7 months agoIndeed – definitely a tough decision. Britannia has been on my want-to-try list for a while, but OTOH GOT is my number one want-to-play right now.

Joe Reil replied to the forum topic Winter Weirdness 2013 in the group
Green Mountain Gamers 7 months agoNot necessarily – they don’t have to run at the same time. There can be one game and then another afterwards.
I’m just saying there be options.

Green Mountain Gamers 7 months agoPerhaps. I do want to learn it, but if it’s that long I might pass in favor of shorter stuff.
Besides which, who says there can only be one GOT?

Green Mountain Gamers 7 months, 1 week agoGame of Thrones and Memoir ’44 are always high on my list. I have much stuff for Memoir and we can arrange for an Overlord scenario if there is interest.
Chuck: Brittania is on my list of games I’d like to […]

For all the C&C fans out there, Richard Borg announced a new one, to be published by Zvezda: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/9380/richard-borg-on-samurai-battles
Interesting in that it will include two sets of rules, C&C: Samurai and Art of Tactic. This will include high quality Zvezda miniatures which is a first for the C&C series.

Zvezda makes a lot of 1/72 minis… There’s also the alternate rules set (Art of Tactic) that I think was previously published by Zvezda. Really doesn’t look like you can go wrong on this one – C&C is a great fit for Samurai error warfare, the minis are beautiful AND you get an alternate set of rules using the same…[Read more]

In addition to the usual fun, we’ll be bringing our Memoir ’44 collection in the hopes of setting up an Overlord game or two. I think there is at least one scenario in the […]

Chuck and I were just talking about this game last night. Have my eye on it! Looks really good. Surprised it is not being published by GMT. Must be the minatures….

I agree the figs look great. I am not familar with the Art of Tactics rules. The more I see…the more tempted I am. Plus it is Samurai’s!
